Netflix got multiple superstars to taste eggnog as a promotional shoot for their pair of NFL Christmas games, and it’s sure to provide you with some chuckles.
The streaming service giant will carry the Dallas Cowboys-Washington Commanders and Detroit Lions-Minnesota Vikings contests. These are two of the three 2025 NFL Christmas games, with Amazon Prime Video broadcasting the Denver Broncos-Kansas City Chiefs contest.
As part of the buildup for their Christmas doubleheader, Netflix had players on Dallas, Minnesota, Washington and Detroit sip eggnog in front of a camera. From Jared Goff saying he has no clue what’s in eggnog to Jayden Daniels comparing it to coffee, the hysterical reactions were mixed:

Last month, Netflix announced its broadcast teams for the two NFL Christmas games: Ian Eagle will be the play-by-play voice for Dallas vs. Washington, with Nate Burleson and Matt Ryan as the analysts.
Ian’s son, Noah Eagle, will call the Lions-Vikings game. Drew Brees, who was picked up by Fox as an NFL analyst after Mark Sanchez’s firing, will call the game with Eagle.
Netflix NFL Christmas Games Scored Giant Ratings Last Year

Last season marked the first year that Netflix aired NFL games, and they were predictably a ratings juggernaut. After last year’s doubleheader on Netflix, the streaming service announced that the Pittsburgh Steelers-Kansas City Chiefs drew 30 million AMA (average minute audience).
The Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans clash fared even better, with 31.3 million AMA, a mild surprise since the Chiefs are essentially the new “America’s Team.” At any rate, it was a significant victory for Netflix in their NFL live game streaming debut.
Their two matchups this year don’t carry as much excitement, as the Lions are the only club among the four with realistic playoff chances. But it doesn’t get much better than the NFL on Christmas, so expect excellent ratings either way.
