NFL Team Is Reportedly Ready To Trade For Tua Tagovailoa – But Only Under One Condition

The Tua Tagovailoa saga could take a major turn before the Miami Dolphins this offseason. The veteran quarterback is done with the team, and the Dolphins started shopping him around the league. With Jeff Hafley taking over as Dolphins’ head coach, the team will have a different quarterback next season.
Meanwhile, they are trying to get rid of Tagovailoa, whose contract will pay him a fully guaranteed $54 million in 2026. If the Dolphins cut him, it would eat up nearly $100 million in cap space.
Making a trade for the former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback won’t be easy, but one team is reportedly willing to help them, as long as they make things more enticing.
One NFL Team Ready To Trade For Tua Tagovailoa

On Wednesday, NFL insider Jonathan Jones shared that an NFL executive considered trading for Tua Tagovailoa. However, it wouldn’t be a simple trade, and the Dolphins would need to send a first-round pick along with Tagovailoa’s hefty contract.
“One high-ranking team executive told CBS Sports he had considered taking on Tagovailoa if the Dolphins would send a first-round pick to take on the freight of his contract,” Jones wrote.
The New York Jets emerged as a potential destination for Tagovailoa. The veteran could serve as a bridge quarterback after the Justin Fields experiment failed and the Jets look for a new franchise QB. Other than that, the Dolphins would be forced to cut him, which would hurt their salary cap situation.
