The Atlanta Falcons didn’t want to wait until Monday to hand Raheem Morris his pink slip.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Falcons have fired Raheem Morris. The move comes hours after the team finished its season with a 19-17 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Morris’ tenure in Atlanta concludes with a record of 16 wins and 18 losses. They went 8-9 in both of his seasons. His downfall? Morris was unable to get much out of 2024 first-round pick Michael Penix Jr. or $180 million free agent signing Kirk Cousins.
Raheem Morris was the Falcons’ interim head coach in 2020 after they fired Dan Quinn. Two years after winning a Super Bowl 56 ring as the Los Angeles Rams’ defensive coordinator, he returned to Atlanta as their HC in 2024.
Per ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, multiple Falcons players lobbied for Morris to return as head coach in 2026. His firing will be costly, too, as the Falcons gave him a five-year contract in 2024.
Morris is the third head coach to be fired during the 2025 season. The Tennessee Titans fired Brian Callahan after a 1-5 start. A 2-8 start in the Meadowlands cost Brian Daboll his job with the New York Giants, too.
