Police charged her with stealing prescription painkillers from an elderly Minnesota couple while working as their in-home nursing assistant. She pleaded guilty in 2018 to burglary and drug possession tied to the painkiller theft, receiving a 45-day jail sentence and ten years of probation. Her attorney publicly acknowledged that Prody had struggled with addiction to both methamphetamine and oxycodone during legal proceedings.
Prody even skipped her own scheduled jail reporting date following that sentencing, prompting a warrant for her arrest before she eventually turned herself in a week later.

Prody has spoken publicly about her relationship with Simpson on multiple occasions over the years. She once defended his innocence directly to reporters, though she later distanced herself from those comments as their relationship deteriorated.
