The Miami Dolphins suffered an incredibly embarrassing special teams blunder during the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Veteran punter Bradley Pinion caught a perfectly clean snap on a critical fourth-down play. Unbelievably, he simply dropped the football right out of his hands as he attempted to kick it. He was quickly forced to fall on the ball at the Miami 28-yard line for a turnover. The costly mistake allowed the 49ers to score a touchdown just two plays later to break the game open.

Subsequently, frustrated fans flooded social media to aggressively accuse the winless front office of intentionally tanking the season. Critics pointed out that the roster had already parted ways with high-priced star veterans during the recent offseason. For many viewers, watching a professional punter flat-out drop a football felt like an intentional act of submission.

“Dolphins might have to make the tanking a little less obvious if they don’t want to get reprimanded by the league,” one account said about the Miami Dolphins.

“Is it me, or does it look like he did it on purpose? The way his hand dropped before the ball came out,” a second person pointed out.

“Are the Dolphins actually tanking?” one final person asked.

The Miami Dolphins fell to 0-2 on Sunday. Miami quarterback Malik Willis struggled heavily while completing 14 of his 25 passes under relentless defensive pressure. He accumulated 157 passing yards alongside one late interception and endured four critical sacks throughout the afternoon.

Ultimately, this disappointing outcome leaves the struggling Dolphins with an uninspiring 0- 2 record to open the year.
