Oz Pearlman, known as Oz the Mentalist, is well known for his highly sought-after mind-reading expertise. He is widely celebrated for his unique ability to perform “magic of the mind.”

Pearlman has performed for major sports organizations in the NFL and the NBA. He’s predicted the final score of the Chiefs-49ers Super Bowl in 2024. He also revealed his 2025 NCAA Tournament picks, which were oddly correct.

He began his professional life as a Wall Street engineer and financial analyst before pivoting full-time into entertainment. It has certainly worked out for him. However, not everybody is a fan of his work.

Pablo Torre & Stevie Baskin Bread Down How Oz the Mentalist Gets His Information

Footage from X, formerly Twitter, shows Oz the Mentalist and Bijan Robinson on a couch. It then cuts to Pablo Torre in the studio talking about him.

“The thing about the magicians that I’ve been talking about… some of them are so protective of other magicians, right?” Torre started off with.

“Like, we shouldn’t reveal tricks. That is, in fact, something that is so anathema to the premise of creating things that are special for an audience and magical for an audience.”

“And the fascinating thing about Oz is that I would bring him up knowing that they had this prior position, and they say, ‘F*** that guy.’ There’s something else going on here,” Torre alluded to.

The video then cuts to Will Compton, Taylor Lewan, and Oz the Mentalist on the Barstool set.

It was Pearlman calling out Bryce Hall to Will Compton, to which he said, “No, Breece.”

“So here’s what actually happened,” Torre starts to explain. Stevie Baskin then chimes in and says, “This is the classic meta-deception. Before the show, they get the guest to look something up on their phone using a fake Google page that they control.”

“The second Will types in the name, Oz already has it on his end. The whole ‘mind reading’ is pre-loaded,” he revealed.

Torre then added, “Exactly. So when Will misspells ‘Breece’ as ‘Bryce,’ it accidentally exposes the whole thing because Oz repeats the wrong name first.” He then praised Compton for blowing the entire thing up.

“And the best part is Will is the one who blew it up by misspelling the name! Will Compton, the hero we didn’t know we needed.”
