The Green Bay Packers have made a final decision on head coach Matt LaFleur. Interestingly, they decided to break the news during the Denver Broncos-Buffalo Bills Divisional Round Game on Saturday.

Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Packers and Matt LaFleur have agreed to a multi-year contract extension. LaFleur’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the 2026 season.

Many wondered if the Packers would fire LaFleur after their brutal collapse and loss to the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round. However, a recent report indicated that the Packers and LaFleur were working toward an extension.

The Packers have been a regular-season juggernaut under Matt LaFleur. But they have gone a disappointing 3-6 postseason record with him, going one-and-done in three of their last four playoff trips.

Green Bay looked like a Super Bowl contender early in the 2025 season. But the team imploded after losing superstar linebacker Micah Parsons to injury. They finished 9-7-1 before losing to Chicago in the Wild Card Round, ranking a mere 16th in scoring offense and 11th in scoring defense, per Pro Football Reference.
