The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots will be in the Bay Area competing at Super Bowl 60 in a few weeks. Both teams will be inside Levi’s Stadium for the big game. That area has been getting a ton of headlines for other reasons.

We’re all fully aware that the San Francisco 49ers have been getting an insane amount of injuries this year. A new theory floated on social media that focused on an electrical substation near the Niners’ practice facility and stadium.

Peter Cowan first posted about the theory on X/Twitter. He thinks it may be contributing to the alarming number of injuries the club has suffered over the years. San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch addressed the rapidly spreading conspiracy theory. Lynch revealed that the team will look into it, citing the importance of the players’ health, per Blake Silverman of Sports Illustrated.

“Because it deals with allegedly the health and safety of our players, I think you have to look into everything. Our guys have been, we’ve been reaching out to anyone and everyone to see does a study exist rather than a guy sticking an apparatus underneath the fence and coming up with a number that I have no idea what that means.

That’s what we know exists; we’ve heard that debunked, so yes, we will look into it. The health and safety of our players is of the utmost priority; we pour into it.”

Now, the Seahawks and Patriots are set to play at the Stadium. However, they have made a huge decision ahead of the game.

Neither The Seahawks nor the Patriots Will Use The 49ers’ Facility Ahead of The Super Bowl

Seattle and New England are not taking any chances. Neither club plans to use the San Francisco 49ers’ practice facility ahead of Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara.

Both the AFC and NFC champions will practice on the campuses of Stanford and San Jose State. The NFL reportedly made these accommodations well in advance, per The Daily Mail. So, it appears that the decision to stay away from Santa Clara had nothing to do with the conspiracy theories online.

In 2025 alone, the 49ers have lost several players to injuries. We can only hope and pray that both the Patriots and Seahawks can remain healthy during the game.
