Philip Rivers Is Interviewing For NFL Head Coaching Job In Shocking Turn Of Events

Philip Rivers is back.
The 44-year-old quarterback announced his retirement from the NFL earlier this month after coming off the sideline from coaching high school football. He intended to help the Indianapolis Colts after they lost Daniel Jones for the season.
“I am (done),” Rivers said on “Up & Adams.”
“I got a son who will be a senior, and I got that St. Michael football team ready to go. We got beat in the semifinals two years in a row,” Rivers said. “So, it’ll be his senior year. My second son will be a ninth grader. They’ll be on the same team together.
Well, it doesn’t appear that Rivers is truly done with being on an NFL field. It was reported on Friday morning that Philip Rivers will be interviewing with the Buffalo Bills for their head coaching position.

On Monday, the Bills made the decision to fire coach McDermott after nine seasons. General manager Brandon Beane seemingly received a promotion, as he is now president of football operations/general manager. He will also lead the coaching search. That search has now led him to Philip Rivers.
Philip Rivers Has Zero College & NFL Coaching Experience

After spending five years away from the NFL, Philip Rivers came out of retirement to play quarterback. He became just the fifth starting quarterback in NFL history at age 44 or older.
Now, he is getting set to interview with the Bills for their head coaching position. That would be a shocking hire. The head football coach at St. Michael Catholic (AL) has only coached teenagers. He has never held a coaching job in college or the NFL.
Through five seasons coaching Alabama high school football, Rivers has compiled an overall record of 43-15 at St. Michael Catholic.
