Philip Rivers’ son, Gunner, has made a final decision on his college football future. The former Los Angeles Chargers quarterback coached Gunner in high school. He posted a solid junior season, going 208 of 290 for 2,813 yards and 44 touchdowns. He only threw five interceptions.

Gunner led St. Michael Catholic in Fairhope, Ala., to a 13-1 record and an appearance in the state title game under the leadership of his father. Rivers returned to the NFL to replace Daniel Jones on the Indianapolis Colts. He played three games, going 58 of 92 for 544 yards and four touchdowns with three interceptions.

With Philip Rivers officially retired, his son will start writing his story in college football. Gunner had multiple options to continue his football journey: Auburn, Georgia, Miami and Boston College had him on their radar.
