A photo of New York Giants rookie Abdul Carter appearing to be asleep during a team meeting has leaked online following his benching earlier this week.

The pass rusher has been benched twice in the past three weeks. He was held out of the opening defensive drive against the Green Bay Packers on November 16, with claims that he had slept through a walkthrough surfacing.

Carter was also left out of the entire first quarter against the New England Patriots this Monday and did not take to the field until the Pats were already leading 17-0. He finished with four tackles and a sack in the 33-15 loss.

Some disgusting claims about the reason for his benching went viral online ahead of Monday’s game, while it’s believed that he was late to a meeting.

A photo of him looking like he’s asleep during a meeting has since surfaced online and is shown right below:

While this isn’t a great look, it doesn’t necessarily suggest that the Giants DE was snoozing. He could have simply been stretching his neck.

Of course, fans aren’t inclined to go with that version.

“Bro this dude has the attention span of a 4 year old🤣,” one laughed.

“Bro already tired of the bs 😭😭,” said a second.

“He doesn’t want to be there,” someone else claimed.

In any case, Carter has already been benched on two occasions in the past three weeks, with both instances linked to discipline rather than performance.

This is definitely not typical of a rookie drafted this high – he was the third-overall pick this year behind Cam Ward and Travis Hunter – and it might follow him around for his entire career.
