The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the busiest teams in the 2026 NFL offseason. After a disappointing end to the 2025 campaign, going 0-1 in the playoffs, Mike Tomlin stepped down as head coach.
They brought in Mike McCarthy as their new helmsman, but the final piece of the puzzle hasn’t made a decision about his future. Aaron Rodgers continues to ponder his future, but the Steelers haven’t stopped making moves.
After adding wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. via trade and signing Dallas Cowboys’ target running back Rico Dowdle, the Steelers are far from done. On Friday, they added a former Super Bowl champion to improve their defense.
Pittsburgh Steelers Sign Former Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl Champion

On Friday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Steelers agreed to sign Sebastian Joseph-Day on a two-year, $11 million deal. He will get $6 million in 2026.

Joseph-Day entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick in the 2018 draft. He spent his first season on the bench, but earned a starting role in the 2019 training camp. The defensive lineman played a key role in the Rams’ win in Super Bowl LVI over the Cincinnati Bengals.
He played for the Los Angeles Chargers, San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans in the last four years. He isn’t as productive as before, but his experience should help the Steelers on the less glamorous side of the ball.
