A legal case involving Puka Nacua has taken a sudden turn. The woman who accused the Los Angeles Rams receiver of biting her on New Year’s Eve has dropped her request for a restraining order in California.

Her attorney, Joseph Kar, confirmed the move in a statement. He said his client chose to step back from that part of the case to focus on a civil lawsuit filed on March 25, 2026. “Plaintiff has elected to voluntarily withdraw without prejudice her petition for civil harassment,” Kar said.

The decision does not end the matter. The civil lawsuit still stands. Authorities with the Los Angeles Police Department continue to investigate the allegations tied to the incident.

Civil Case Moves Forward As Both Sides Trade Claims

The lawsuit includes serious accusations. The woman, identified as Madison Atiabi, claims Nacua made an antisemitic remark during a dinner. The filing quotes him as saying, “F*** all the Jews.” Atiabi, who is Jewish, said the comment left her distressed.

She also accused Nacua of physical assault later that night. According to the complaint, he bit her friend’s thumb and then bit her shoulder without warning. The filing says the bite left a visible mark and caused pain. Atiabi now seeks damages, including medical costs.

Nacua has denied all claims. His legal team pushed back hard. Attorney Levi McCathern said Nacua never met the accuser before the incident and called the claims false. He also accused the woman of trying to “blackmail” the player. McCathern said they plan to file a defamation lawsuit.

He offered a different version of events. He described the incident as “horseplay” during a party and said it only caused a temporary mark.

Kar rejected that claim. He told TMZ that the defense tries to distract from what he described as violent behavior. He said the incident involved “lips, mouth, and teeth gnashing down” on his client’s shoulder.

New video footage has added more attention to the case. The clip shows a woman, believed to be Atiabi, dancing in a van while Nacua appears passed out nearby. Reports say the video came after the alleged biting incident.

The restraining order request may be gone, but the legal fight continues. Both sides now prepare for a deeper battle in civil court.
