Rex Ryan Is Taking Major Heat For His Latest Comments About Shedeur Sanders On ESPN [VIDEO]

Rex Ryan has been publicly critical of Shedeur Sanders in the past.
Earlier this month, Ryan tore into Shedeur Sanders on ESPN following the rookie’s regular-season NFL debut. The fifth-round pick threw for 47 yards and an interception on 4-of-16 passing after coming into the game due to Dillon Gabriel being hurt.
A clearly dejected Shedeur was shown sitting by himself on the Browns bench, which led to Ryan saying, “He’s there by himself on the bench. I’ve never seen that,” Ryan declared. “I’ve seen it in the seventh game of the World Series when you lose the game or whatever. This is a game that’s a pillow-fight game. Nobody cares. Did he care, or are you trying to make it a show and make it about yourself?”
On Sunday, Rex Ryan was back at it after a great NFL start from the rookie quarterback.
Ryan was impressed by Shedeur Sanders, but stated that he wants other people to help him by not allowing him to be interviewed right after the game.
“I’m talking about as he’s leaving the field,” Ryan said as he got pushed back from everyone else.
Ryan continued, “The first thing he should’ve said was, ‘By the way, our defense, way to go,” as he went into Shedeur talking about himself instead.

Shedeur Sanders Starting His Second Game

On Sunday against the 49ers, Shedeur is starting his second-straight game.
Rookie Shedeur Sanders reportedly has a chance to remain the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback for the rest of the 2025 season.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns are “open to giving Sanders an extended look for the rest of the season” as long as his play continues to stay consistent.
Per Schefter, the Browns were “impressed” with Sanders’ performance last week, citing “his playmaking skills, his aggressive downfield throws, his ability to buy time and push the ball down the field.”
Gabriel entered concussion protocol in Week 11 during a game against the Baltimore Ravens, and although he is cleared, Shedeur has seemingly taken his spot.
As of this writing, Shedeur has one touchdown pass against the 49ers.
