New York Giants owner Steve Tisch was named in the latest round of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The convicted sex offender who took his own life in prison has been a subject of interest for many years.

The New York Giants co-owner’s name came up in multiple emails that the Department of Justice released earlier this year. Conversational exchanges showed the two men discussing women.

Tisch unsurprisingly did not attend the Annual Meeting in Phoenix. Commissioner Roger Goodell was in attendance and was asked about the investigation into Tisch.

Roger Goodell addressed Giants co-owner Steve Tisch on Tuesday at the league’s Annual Meeting in Phoenix. The emails from Tisch and Epstein are mostly from 2013, five years after Epstein was convicted of procuring a child for prostitution.

In many of the emails, Epstein discusses setting up Tisch with various women. All of the women’s names are redacted, as is Tisch’s email address. There is also one exchange from 2017 in which Tisch tells Epstein he was talking “fondly” about him with a friend and wants to “stay in touch.”

“As we said, we’re going to follow the facts,” Goodell told reporters.

“We have been doing that. We’ve been very focused on making sure we know everything that’s out there. We’ve engaged with others to make sure we have that information. But we have not found anything that’s a violation at this stage.”

Goodell added that Tisch and his siblings, Jonathan and Laurie, are “no longer owners,” since the league has approved the requested transfer of their remaining Giants stakes to their children’s trusts. That means Steve Tisch seems unlikely to face discipline under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

The Giants released a statement from Tisch at the time, describing their relationship as brief and Epstein as “a terrible person”:

“We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy, and investments. I did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island. As we all know now, he was a terrible person and someone I deeply regret associating with.”

No one from the New York Giants’ ownership addressed reporters in Phoenix this week. It remains to be seen what progresses as the months go on.
