Anthony Richardson and the Indianapolis Colts agreed to part ways in the 2026 NFL offseason. After three seasons at Lucas Oil Stadium, Richardson failed to live up to the expectations and the Colts gave the keys to the car to Daniel Jones.

He entered the league, considered a “much better version” of Lamar Jackson, but his performances have been underwhelming.

With the free agency period underway and the Colts looking at the future with Jones as their starting quarterback, Richardson’s trade market appears to be quiet. The Minnesota Vikings emerged as a potential landing spot before they signed Kyler Murray.

Other teams could be interested in Richardson, and it seems that the perfect opportunity for him has appeared.

ESPN reporter Stephen Holder reported on Saturday that no deal is imminent for Richardson. Teams are working out their free agency deals before focusing on the trade market. However, the reporter noted that one team could have an interest in the former No. 4 pick.

“Update on Colts QB Anthony Richardson, who is available via trade. No deal is imminent, per multiple sources. There are interested teams, but the dust is still settling from free agency. One particular team to monitor: the Green Bay Packers,” Holder wrote.

The Packers lost Malik Willis in free agency and now need a backup. Richardson could walk the same path Willis did and evolve until becoming a starting quarterback in the league, but nothing is certain now.

Richardson has played just 17 games in three seasons, going 177 of 350 for 2,400 yards and 11 touchdowns with 13 interceptions.
