New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson will be taking on a new job during his team’s bye.

Wilson joined the Giants on a one-year deal after a season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but was quickly benched in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart earlier this year.

Dart, who seemingly took a shot at the veteran signal-caller, doesn’t appear in danger of relinquishing that spot anytime soon, given his excellent performances under center.

The Giants have won just two games this season and won’t be in action in Week 14. And Wilson, a healthy scratch for the first time in his 14-year career on Monday night, will be in the CBS broadcast booth as a guest analyst on Sunday.

“Thrilled to have 10x Pro Bowler, 2020 Walter Payton Man of the Year and Super Bowl Champion @DangeRussWilson on to talk ball this Sunday,” the network announced on Thursday.

CBS has Sunday’s late-afternoon Broncos-Raiders game, which could make things awkward if he’s on the call, given the shot he took at Sean Payton earlier in the season.

Wilson has fallen behind Jameis Winston in the pecking order in NY. As a result, he was a healthy scratch on Monday. However, he isn’t looking to leave before the end of the season.

“I haven’t asked for a release or anything like that, because I want to be here,” he said last month, per SNY. “But I think for me, I just want to get better every day. I still want to keep playing football — I love it, obviously. And I feel like I’ve still got it. So that’s what I want to be able to do.”

The Giants have just four more games left to play this season, with no postseason football in sight. This means Wilson will be a free agent in just a few weeks.

It appears he’s already preparing for a life after football. It will be interesting to see how he does in the broadcast booth.
