What a day for the Darnold family after Sam Darnold advanced his team to the Super Bowl. The Seattle Seahawks quarterback led his team to a 31-27 NFC Championship win over the Los Angeles Chargers at Lumen Field. They will now advance to Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8 and face the New England Patriots.

Following the game, Darnold spoke about the moment he once saw ghosts to what he has become as a quarterback today. Shortly after he secured the big win, the QB shared a quick kiss on the field with his future wife, Katie Hoofnagle.

It was a memorable moment for Darnold, who previously led the Minnesota Vikings to a 14-win season. They opted to go with J.J. McCarthy over him, a decision they would come to regret.

Following the NFC Championship Game, Katie, his future wife, posted a simple message on her Instagram Story. “LFG 14!!!” she wrote.

Just weeks after inking the most lucrative contract of his professional career, Sam Darnold proposed to Hoofnagle in July 2025. She announced the news on social media with her answer. Katie wrote, “YES!!!!” alongside a photo of the engagement ring Darnold presented.

Hoofnagle has been a consistent presence at Seahawks games throughout 2025. Last month, she had social media going crazy over her two-piece outfit. Aside from being a WAG, she’s an account manager for a technology company. The former star soccer player for South Carolina started 67 games over four years.

She’s expected to be inside Levi’s Stadium to witness Darnold compete in the most significant contest of his NFL journey. Seattle enters as the favorite against the New England Patriots. Darnold will get to play in the Super Bowl as the starter, as opposed to being the backup as he was with the 49ers.
