The Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini situation has drawn plenty of attention in recent weeks, even outside the NFL. The drama has transcended the sports talk shows and become one of the biggest stories of the offseason.

Everybody has had something to say about it, except for the ones fans would think would have the most to say about it.

An NFL head coach being seen allegedly cheating on his wife is already a juicy story, but when it happens with an insider, with everything it involves, the situation reaches a new level.

It’s been a month since the situation became public. While some continue to dig up old clips and tweets that don’t put Russini in the best light, NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” hasn’t touched the incident.

Tony Farmer, one of the people who has exposed more details about Russini and Vrabel, called out the show for not using the situation to make fans laugh.

Fans came up with explanations behind this situation.

“Wonder why? NBC holds a major 11-year NFL media rights deal (2023–2033) valued at approximately $2 billion annually, primarily for broadcasting ‘Sunday Night Football’. The contract includes streaming rights on Peacock, Super Bowl rotations, and features an opt-out window after the 2029-2030 season,” one fan said.

“NBC and the other broadcast networks outside of Fox are literally shitting their pants at the idea of the streamers taking their packages so they will not do anything that’s going to upset the NFL. If SNL was on Fox, it would’ve been a whole month of Mike and Diana skits,” another fan said.

“SNL usually doesn’t touch a subject until they got the full story. At least SNL I use to watch, haven’t watched in a while though if things changed. Plus, enough fans have to care about a subject for them to take notice,” a third fan wrote.

“Yeah I was definitely shocked about this I expected it to at least be on Weekend Update,” a fourth fan said.

Those are all interesting explanations. Perhaps they will wait a little more before touching on that story.
