Seattle Seahawks Release Worrying Injury Update On QB Sam Darnold That Came Out Of Nowhere

Seattle Seahawks quarterback is suddenly on the injury report ahead of Saturday night’s playoff tilt against the San Francisco 49ers.
The team listed Darnold as questionable with an oblique injury, just two days removed from the monumental fixture.
“The #Seahawks have added QB Sam Darnold (oblique) to the injury report. He’s listed as questionable,” NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport noted on Thursday afternoon.
It’s not clear how the injury occurred. Darnold was seen jogging in practice on Thursday and did not seem to have difficulty with his mobility.
However, backup QB Drew Lock got a few reps with the first team and would be the starter should Darnold be unable to play. Rookie Jalen Milroe would play Lock’s backup in such a case.
Sam Darnold Says He Left Practice As A Precaution

Darnold, who recently went viral for appearing to snub Laura Rutledge, spoke to the media after practice on Thursday. The veteran QB felt something on his side early in the session. He explained that he needed to step away as a precaution and didn’t believe the injury was serious.
“In routes on air felt a little something in my oblique and didn’t want to push it. Wasn’t the day to push it,” he said per the Seattle Times.“That was it. Came inside, got some rehab and feel like I’ll be ready to go for Saturday.”
Darnold previously predicted he’d meet Brock Purdy in the playoffs. It would be a real disappointment if he missed the game.
