Seattle Seahawks star Jacardia Wright endured a terrifying head-twisting tackle on Sunday night.

Wright starred in the Seattle Seahawks’ preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. He rushed for 81 yards and a stunning 69-yard touchdown. Explaining the big play, Wright noted he recognized Tennessee’s starters on the field, spotted a gap off a counter play, and saw “nothing but green grass.”

Because he was starring as a playmaker, Titans defenders spent the rest of the game ensuring he didn’t get another long run. Unfortunately, their determination nearly ended his career.

The NFL preseason serves as a primary battleground for athletes fighting desperately to secure final roster spots. Jacardia Wright is very much fighting for a spot on the Seattle Seahawks roster. As an undrafted player trying to secure his place in the backfield, he is making a strong push.

Prominent football film evaluator Warren Sharp shared two pictures highlighting a truly horrifying penalty during the physical contest. Tennessee Titans defensive end Femi Oladejo completely locked onto the helmet of Seattle Seahawks running back Jacardia Wright.

The defender grabbed the opening with immense force. Consequently, the tackle twisted the ball carrier’s neck in a highly unnatural, dangerous direction. Officials immediately threw penalty flags to penalize the defensive player for the dangerous infraction.

“Holy hell, this is a brutal facemask,” Sharp wrote.

The Seattle Seahawks Blow Double-Digit Lead

The Tennessee Titans defeated the Seattle Seahawks 19-16. First, Seattle started incredibly fast. Their backup units quickly built a 16-3 lead during the first quarter. Drew Lock threw a 36-yard touchdown pass. Soon after, Jacardia Wright added a 69-yard rushing score.

Later, the game shifted in the second half. Eventually, quarterback Will Levis, who has another chance to make the team, engineered a 13-play drive. This sequence led to a 2-yard touchdown run by D’Ernest Johnson. Finally, Derrick Canteen sealed the victory with a late interception.
