Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a stern message for the critics after winning his first NFL start on Sunday.

The Browns announced on Wednesday that Shedeur Sanders would make his first NFL start with Dillon Gabriel still in the concussion protocol. Sanders completed 11 of 20 pass attempts for 209 yards, a touchdown and one interception in a 24-10 victory.

Speaking to reporters after the game, an ecstatic Sanders delivered a strong message to his long list of critics, one that includes ESPN analyst and former NFL head coach Rex Ryan.

“A lot of people want to see me fail,” the 23-year-old quarterback said. “It ain’t gonna happen.”

Shedeur Sanders had a rough debut when he relieved an injured Gabriel against the Baltimore Ravens last week, completing just four of 16 pass attempts for 47 yards and an interception, per ESPN.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski hasn’t yet announced his starter for next Sunday’s home game against the San Francisco 9ers, but nobody should be surprised if he decides to roll with Sanders after winning his first start.
