Shedeur Sanders and his family aren’t thought to have done themselves much of a favor during last year’s pre-draft process.

He will still finish his rookie season as a starting quarterback. However, many people believe it could have been a better 2025. Much better…

Sanders fell all the way to the fifth round of the draft last April. The Cleveland Browns stopped his slide at No. 144, two rounds after they selected Dillon Gabriel. Given that he’s starting over Gabriel at the moment, one can be forgiven for feeling puzzled.

The former Colorado star is said to have interviewed poorly after opting not to throw during the Combine. His father, Deion Sanders, also stated on more than one occasion that the family would dictate where both Shedeur and his brother, Shilo, would play.

Shedeur didn’t get drafted until Day 3. His brother didn’t get drafted at all.

Cleveland was not one of the places he wanted to go, yet here he is, seemingly relieved to get an opportunity.

Shedeur Sanders Took It Too Far, According To Skip Bayless

The Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants were touted as landing spots for Shedeur Sanders after his final year with Colorado. Both teams were quarterback-needy, but only one of them has Tom Brady as an owner.

The Raiders were constantly picked as the likeliest destination, given Shedeur’s relationship with Brady.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner is known to have mentored the younger QB. And they were thought to be quite close. Vegas ultimately chose to trade for Geno Smith.

It doesn’t appear to have been a sound decision.

But why did they pass up on Shedeur?

A video of the claims Skip Bayless made back in May has resurfaced on social media and is going viral again.

According to the veteran analyst, Shedeur suggested that Brady would be the last person he’d take life advice from. Bayless claimed to have heard that Sanders made this comment at a meeting with the Giants, reportedly joking about Gisele Bündchen cheating on Brady with her trainer and eventually divorcing him.

Skip noted that this all got back to Brady, and they haven’t spoken since.

Meanwhile, Gisele has remarried. Brady has also just been linked to a new model.

Shedeur’s prospects as a starter in 2026 remain unclear.
