President Donald Trump won’t be attending Super Bowl 60, but fans will certainly notice his influence. With Super Bowl 60 just a little over a week away, football fans are gearing up for a championship matchup between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

Trump said he plans to skip Super Bowl 60, which will be played Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. In an interview with the New York Post, Trump said the primary reason for his absence is the distance.

The president attended last year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans. He has also been a frequent presence at major sporting events during his second term. His last appearance was a game in Washington, where fans could be heard booing him.

Aside from Donald Trump not being there, his impact will be felt on the Super Bowl 60 uniforms. The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots will wear a brand-new USA patch on their jerseys for the Super Bowl.

Both the Patriots and Seahawks officially unveiled their uniform combinations ahead of Super Bowl LX. Each jersey will feature a patch reading “USA 250” on the right side.

President Trump reportedly pushed the AFC and NFC champions to wear a special patch for Super Bowl 60. Both the Patriots and Seahawks will wear a patch with “USA 250” on it commemorating the U.S.’s semiquincentennial.

The NFL began celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in Week 18. Not to mention, the primary footballs used during games in 2026 include an “America 250” logo.

“A patch befitting President Donald Trump’s gaudy inclinations is set to be on every jersey during the Super Bowl next week,” according to a report from SF Gate.

How NFL fans reacted to it:

“Those USA 250 ASS. Non-partisan or not, you can’t convince me that “sports and politics don’t mix” when I’m seeing that weak ass patch,” one fan said.

“Who in their right mind approved that USA 250 patch? Absolutely unnecessary. If anything, make it a helmet sticker,” a second fan wrote.

“They need to take those weak ass USA 250 patch off lol,” a third fan commented.

Players are also set to have it on their uniforms in the NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Final, baseball games on July 4, and MLB All-Star festivities in Philadelphia.
