Social media believes that the Philadelphia Eagles are planning to fire head coach Nick Sirianni after some cryptic comments from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Eagles won their second straight NFC East division crown with an 11-6 record. However, their roller-coaster season ended with a heartbreaking 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round.

After the Eagles’ loss, Nick Sirianni relieved Kevin Patullo from his duties as the offensive coordinator. And now, fans are wondering if the Eagles will move on from the Super Bowl-winning head coach as well.

During an appearance on 97.5 The Fanatic, ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicated that the Eagles could announce another major move next week, in addition to their next offensive coordinator:

“And maybe it’ll be even more than that by next week. Maybe it’ll be even more than a discussion in an offensive coordinator. We’ll see.”

Schefter’s comments have fans convinced that the Eagles are planning to fire Sirianni.

“It’s never too late to move on from Sirianni,” a fan wrote.

“He’s clearly alluding to Sirianni being fired,” commented a user.

“Please,” said a fan.

“Eagles the first team to be removed from league do to not finding a coach?” another guessed.

“Sean McDermott to the Eagles confirmed 😡,” said a user.

“Coach is GONE??” asked a fan.

It feels extremely unlikely that the Eagles would fire Nick Sirianni now. If they wanted to move on from him, they would have been wise to do so before rival teams hired other top HC candidates.

The Eagles awarded Sirianni a multi-year extension last year, via ESPN’s Tim McManus. No, they did not live up to expectations this year. But finishing 11-6 in a year marred by locker room drama and never-ending AJ Brown trade speculation is nothing to scoff at.

Philadelphia is one of two NFL teams to make the playoffs every year since 2021 (Sirianni’s first year), along with the Buffalo Bills. It would send a bizarre message to the fanbase if Sirianni were let go a year after winning the Super Bowl.

There’s no reason to think the Eagles are going to get rid of Sirianni at this point. Maybe if things go sideways again in 2026, but that would make you wonder what the realistic standards are in Philly? You can’t win the Super Bowl every year.
