Former New York Jets first-round pick Darron Lee has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of his girlfriend in Tennessee.
ESPN is reporting that Lee was taken into custody after police were dispatched to a home near Ooltewah, about two-and-a-half hours outside of Nashville, on Thursday.
The cops arrived on a report of CPR in progress. They say they attempted life-saving measures, but the woman in question succumbed to her injuries.
“Deputies were dispatched to a residence Thursday afternoon to report a CPR in progress. Upon arrival, first responders located a woman and attempted life-saving measures, but it was determined that she was deceased,” the outlet noted.
Detectives later determined the death a homicide. They identified Lee as the suspect and arrested the former Ohio State standout at the scene.
The authorities have charged Lee with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Jail records state he is being held without bond.
