Surprise NFL Team Emerges Alongside Seattle Seahawks As Early Super Bowl Favorites For 2026

The Seattle Seahawks completed a dominant run in the 2025 NFL playoffs by winning Super Bowl 60. The NFC champions played at a high level, leaving no chance for the New England Patriots to take over the game.
A 29-13 win over the Pats confirmed that they were the best team all season long, but now the situation changed. Coach Mike Macdonald said that the Seahawks will be in a different position next season, when everybody will be out to try to dethrone them.
“We use the term ‘chasing edges’ here in Seattle,” Macdonald said Monday at the Super Bowl handover news conference. “You have to live like that, you know, you can’t be copying everybody else. We want to be on the forefront of things. We know that — we know that we’re target No. 1 now.”
The challenges (and even external attacks) presented themselves after the win. Many think they have identified the Seahawks’ strongest opposition from going back-to-back.
Los Angeles Rams Considered Early Super Bowl 61 Favorites Alongside Seattle Seahawks

Over a year before SoFi Stadium hosts Super Bowl 61, sportsbooks set the odds for who will win the big game. The Seattle Seahawks come off as strong favorites, but divisional rivals Los Angeles Rams are right there with them- Both teams pay +950 at DraftKings at the moment.
Other candidates include the Buffalo Bills, who own the top odds of any AFC team. The Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens are tied for the fourth spot. The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t make it to the top five after a disappointing 2025 NFL season.
The Seahawks will celebrate their victory with a parade on Wednesday. After that, they would start working to defend their title.
