The Baltimore Ravens changed their minds about trading for Maxx Crosby. That decision may have screwed them for years to come.

League sources told ESPN that the Ravens rescinded the deal because of medical concerns that arose during a physical. “The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. We will have no further comment at this time,” the Raiders said on Tuesday.

Crosby appeared to be thrilled with his new team before they changed their minds. He even posted a video on his Instagram story showing he was in Baltimore.

The timing of the deal falling apart means that both teams were under the impression the trade would be in effect while navigating NFL free agency. Baltimore saw a number of players depart for other teams. Meanwhile, the Raiders will now have millions in salary added back onto their payroll after signing at least 8 players in free agency.

This entire situation is going to hurt the Ravens well past just this year. A new report states multiple NFL teams will no longer get involved in trade discussions with the Ravens organization moving forward.

The Baltimore Ravens pulled out of a blockbuster trade for Maxx Crosby after concerns emerged during the medical evaluation process.

According to an NFL insider, the decision ultimately came down to health concerns discovered in his physical. That makes you wonder whether other teams might have the same concerns.

The Raiders do not want to come off their asking price, but that might be forced to if they want to trade him. Crosby was certainly ready to go to Baltimore. Las Vegas last appeared in the playoffs in 2021 and has gone 7-27 over the past two seasons.

Maxx Crosby had 10 sacks last season and has reached double digits four times in his seven seasons. He would love to have that production for a winning franchise.
