NFL reporter Tom Pelissero found himself under fire after one of his tweets on Jalen Hurts’ situation sparked outrage among fans across the league. Eagles fans received terrible news on Monday when the team announced the quarterback would be out for the rest of the season.

The situation worsened after doctors found a blood clot in Hurts’ calf. Specialists in London initially diagnosed him with superficial vein thrombosis before additional testing identified deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli. They also found blood clots in both lungs.

Pelissero added more details about Hurts’ moves in London. He lauded his commitment to the game, recalling his numbers after doctors staying awake for “roughly 36 hours.”

Pelissero’s tweet raised eyebrows among his followers. Fans questioned the framing of the situation since the Eagles completely mishandled Hurts’ diagnosis and made him play when he wasn’t fit to take the field.

“This is not a feel good story about commitment. He could have died. This is gross framing,” one said.

“Why are we twisting this into a story about passion for football when the Eagles committed one of the clearest forms of malpractice in quite some time?” another asked.

“a lot of people in the eagles organization should be fired for how this hurts situation was handled,” another added.

“‘How committed is Jalen Hurts to football?’ Have you no shame for saying this bullshit?” a fourth wrote.

NFL fans rallied to support Hurts regardless of their favorite teams. The situation looks serious and Pelissero’s framing didn’t help it.
