The Chiefs have nothing to play for on Sunday, but Travis Kelce might have a little something on his mind.

The 36-year-old NFL tight end appears to be winding down his career. During the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast, he appeared to give a hint of his plans. While speaking about Patrick Mahomes, he failed to say “We” and instead used “The Chiefs.”

Patrick Mahomes suffered a season-ending ACL tear last week. That was likely the final time they played together.

Kelce’s pregame move had NFL fans convinced that he is truly done after the 2025 NFL season. Travis Kelce was spotted giving some of his gear away to fans. Those are he actions of a man who knows his time is winding down.

Kelce may have played his final game with Patrick Mahomes last week. Unfortunately, it ended with him going down for the season. Travis Kelce wanted to end his football career with a Super Bowl victory.

Unfortunately, it appears he will lend it with no playoff run.

There’s still some history to be made in these final three games of the season for Kelce. He leads the team with 67 receptions for 797 yards.

Kansas City’s star tight end told reporters he will give “everything I got” for the final three games of the season. “It’s just integrity, man,” Kelce said. “I signed up to be a Chief, and I love doing what I do. I know I’ve been dreaming of being in these moments and playing for an NFL team since I was a kid.”

“Getting back to that will give you more motivation than you could ever need. That’s just how you need to go about work, whether you’re in the [playoff] race or not. “I’m going to make sure these guys know I’m out there giving them everything I got.”

Kelce needs just three receiving yards on Sunday to make history. He will join Hall of Famer Jerry Rice as the only players with at least 800 receiving yards in 12 consecutive seasons.

Travis Kelce sits third all-time among tight ends in receiving yards (12,948) and receptions (1,071) and sits fifth in TDs (85). He is going straight to the Hall of Fame once he retires.
