Trey Hendrickson Was Reportedly Set To Sign With Surprise AFC Team Before The Ravens Swooped In After Bailing On Maxx Crosby Trade

The Baltimore Ravens, not wanting Maxx Crosby and pivoting to Trey Hendrickson, certainly had a major ripple effect. It took them less than 24 hours to find their replacement.
Baltimore didn’t like the results of a physical, and brazenly backed out of the blockbuster deal. Only a few hours later, the team wasted no time in finding the replacement. Ravens GM Eric DeCosta quickly pivoted, landing former Bengals pass rusher Trey Hendrickson on a four-year, $112 million deal, which could be worth $120 million.
Many NFL fans were unhappy, with some wanting the team to be investigated for collusion. Besides fans, at least one team has to be upset at the Ravens. Their move to get Hendrickson completely screwed up their plans.
The Crosby fallout may have benefited Hendrickson, but it screwed another AFC team that he was headed to.
Trey Hendrickson Was Headed To Indianapolis

The defender had been in search of a long-term extension for multiple seasons, but never received one from the Bengals. He was the best available player left ahead of the official opening of free agency, according to USA TODAY Sports’ Nate Davis.
Still, he couldn’t find a team to give him what he wanted. Then, the Ravens came calling him. He got the massive deal that he so badly coveted.
Unfortunately, according to Ian Rapoport, Trey Hendrickson was set to sign with the Colts before the Maxx Crosby mess.

SI.com’s Albert Breer reported that Indianapolis made a trade offer to the Bengals for Hendrickson last summer. Obviously, the two sides were unable to successfully strike a deal. Now, once they get close, he gets taken right from under them.
Now the AFC South team has to go back to the drawing board.
