The NFL playoffs are set, with the Wild Card round starting this weekend. Fourteen teams are still chasing the Super Bowl. For the other 18 teams, the offseason has already begun.

Week 18 ended Sunday night which led to fast changes across the league. Several teams moved quickly. The Falcons, Raiders, Cardinals, and Browns all fired their head coaches since Sunday. Front offices now turn their focus to reshaping rosters.

Quarterbacks are at the center of those plans. Two big names could be on the move soon. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa are both being mentioned in trade talks. Comments from teams and league insiders suggest those discussions could pick up soon.

The Cardinals fired head coach Jonathan Gannon, signaling a possible reset. Kyler Murray now sits at the heart of that discussion. NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that Arizona could soon move on from the former No. 1 overall pick.

Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort did little to cool the talk. He addressed the idea directly on Monday.

“I think when you come off a season like we had, I’d say all options are on the table, whether it’s quarterback or any other position,” Ossenfort said.

That comment opened the door wide. Murray still carries strong value across the league. Several teams need a proven starter. Arizona could seek picks or young players if it chooses that path.

Miami faces a similar decision. The Dolphins benched Tua Tagovailoa late in the season as the team moved out of playoff contention. That move raised eyebrows around the league.

Tagovailoa did not push back on trade talk. Instead, he welcomed it.

“That would be dope,” Tagovailoa said on Monday. “I would be good with it.”

Those comments said a lot. Miami now heads into the offseason with big questions at quarterback. Tagovailoa has delivered big moments before, but his benching changed the mood around the team.

Both situations follow the same pattern. When teams want a fresh start, it often begins at quarterback. Teams that missed the playoffs feel pressure to move quickly. Trade talks could start before free agency even begins.

No deals have been announced yet, and the league is still waiting. Even so, the signs are clear. Both Murray and Tagovailoa appear closer to being traded than staying put.

As the playoffs begin, the offseason story already builds. Quarterback movement often defines it. This year looks no different.
