The first day of the NFL league year, March 11th, can’t come soon enough for the San Francisco 49ers and Brandon Aiyuk.
When it does, all signs point to the star wide receiver officially being released. Honestly, both sides are looking for it, as this has been dragging on for months. This saga has been exhausting.
General manager John Lynch all but confirmed that nothing would happen until the new league year begins.
Two seasons ago, Brandon Aiyuk was one of the top wide receivers in the NFL. Then everything changed once he tore his ACL. That ended his 2024 season early, and he missed the entire 2025 season.
Fast forward to 2026, and now a wild report is mapping out why he and the team fell out with each other.
Brandon Aiyuk Allegedly Did Everything Wrong in Regard To His Torn ACL

The 49ers lost faith in Brandon Aiyuk. He had all of the talent and was willing to stick by him after he tore his ACL. However, it seems his behavior was simply too much. Now, he’ll never play for them again, and might have put his career in jeopardy.
An X account alleges that Aiyuk missed his rehab for his torn ACL/MCL/meniscus. He also reportedly never followed the proper protocol for his knee. Because of that, Aiuyk has chronic knee instability/osteoarthritis and might not ever play again.
What if I told you I found out what happened between the 49ers and Brandon Aiyuk.
What if I told you the reason for the 49ers and BA downfall really did have to do with him missing his rehab for his torn ACL/MCL/meniscus?

His final year playing a down for the team would end up being in 2024. Aiyuk finished the 2024 season with 25 receptions for 374 yards in seven games.
Brandon Aiyuk, who suffered a torn ACL and MCL in October of 2024, was expected to be a focal part of the 49ers’ offense upon his return to the team from rehab. Now, he will look to be the focal point elsewhere.
