The New Orleans Saints are 1-5 this season, and they seem very unlikely to make the postseason at this point. For that reason, some of their players are candidates to be traded prior to the deadline. Alvin Kamara is a player who could draw trade interest, but he reportedly does not want to be dealt.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says Kamara told Saints general manager Mickey Loomis that he wants to remain with the Saints for the rest of his career. Kamara has been with the Saints since they drafted him in 2017. He signed a two-year extension with them that carries him through next season.

Loomis reportedly approached Kamara concerning the trade interest the running back has received, and that’s when Kamara said his preference was to stay with the team.

Kamara, 30, has rushed for 314 yards and a touchdown in five games this season. He has added 22 catches for 122 yards. Kamara made the Pro Bowl in each of his first five seasons with the Saints. He has had at least 400 receiving yards in every season as a pro.

Kamara did not practice for the Saints on Wednesday. He is dealing with an ankle injury but it did not prevent him from playing in Week 6, and it is unlikely to keep him from playing in Week 7.
