Tua Tagovailoa throws an interception

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa made by far one of the worst throws of his career in his team’s loss to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Tagovailoa turned the ball over four times in the Dolphins’ 31-6 Week 7 loss to the Browns at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland, Ohio. He threw three interceptions, all of which came in Miami’s scoreless second half. The third pick came on a throw that would have been embarrassing even for a rookie.

With the Dolphins looking to mount an improbable comeback, Tagovailoa threw a pass down the seam that turned into the easiest interception of Browns safety Ronnie Hickman’s career. Former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho broke the play down and was in disbelief that Tagovailoa attempted the throw.

Tagovailoa somehow did not see Hickman despite the fact that the quarterback seemed to be staring right at him. It was the type of throw that you only see from an inexperienced quarterback or one who has completely lost focus, and Tagovailoa does not fall under the former umbrella.

The Dolphins fell to 1-6 with their latest embarrassing loss. Head coach Mike McDaniel could lose his job any day now, and some felt his postgame comments were a hint that he might bench Tagovailoa.

Tagovailoa made headlines after Miami’s Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers with the way he called out his teammates. He followed that up with an abysmal performance in Cleveland. All options should be on the table for the Dolphins going forward.
