Shedeur Sanders Was The Victim Of Shocking Crime While Making His NFL Debut
This article was originally published on Total Pro Sports.

Shedeur Sanders endured a rough debut after coming on for an injured Dillon Gabriel during the Ravens-Browns game on Sunday, but his day was a lot worse than everyone thought.
The Browns rookie played his first competitive NFL reps on the day, replacing Gabriel after the latter suffered a concussion. He did not give a great account of himself, yet he should have felt like he hit a milestone, having played in his first professional game.
Given the reports, any celebration would have been short-lived, as it’s been revealed that the quarterback’s house was broken into while he was playing.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, a break-in occurred at Sanders’ residence during the game, making him one of several professional athletes to have their homes burglarized while on team duty.
“Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders made his NFL debut on Sunday. While the game was happening, something happened at his house. The details are still being gathered, but we’re told (per multiple sources) that there was a break-in at Sanders’s home,” Florio reported on Monday.

Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot later confirmed this.
“Can confirm that Shedeur Sanders’ house was broken into during the #Browns loss to the #Ravens on Sunday, as first reported by @ProFootballTalk,” she wrote.

Information On Shedeur Sanders Incident Remains Sparse

Sanders’ debut did not go as he would have hoped, and he cut a dejected figure on his team’s bench after the 23-16 loss, something ESPN’s Rex Ryan has ripped him for.
His mother, Pilar Sanders, called Cleveland out following the highly anticipated debut, having attended the game.
Information regarding the break-in is currently limited, and no suspects have been identified. It’s also unknown whether any property was stolen.
As mentioned above, the burglary at Shedeur Sanders’ residence is the latest in a string of incidents in which top-name athletes were targeted.
In recent times, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Joe Burrow, Cameron Jordan, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have all been victims of house break-ins.
