Jahmyr Gibbs dropped something unexpected during the Sunday Night Football showdown between the Lions and Panthers.
Gibbs has been attracting attention all season. Analysts predicted he could have a rare 1,000-yard rushing and receiving campaign, and he’s been an important player for Detroit. Sunday night’s introduction gave fans a completely different reason to notice him.
Gibbs skipped past Georgia Tech and Alabama entirely when shouting out his alma mater during the night’s intros. He claimed he went to “Hollywood Arts” instead, name-dropping the fictional performing arts school from Nickelodeon’s Victorious.
Fans Flooded Social Media Over Gibbs’ On-Air Answer
Netflix has a real Hollywood Arts spinoff on the way, and TVInsider has reported Daniella Monet is reprising her role as Trina Vega for it.
Needless to say, everyone loved Gibbs’ very relatable intro.
“Jahmyr gibbs hollywood arts? Like Victorious?” one user asked.
“Jahmyr Gibbs, Hollywood arts” knew I loved demon for a reason ofc he knows ball 😭🙏🏽,” another fan wrote.
“Gibbs said he’s from Hollywood Arts 💀” one tweet read.
“LOL not Jahmyr Gibbs saying “Hollywood Arts”🤣🤣” someone laughed.
“Did Jah just throw out a Victorious reference? ‘Jahmyr Gibbs, Hollywood Arts’” someone asked.
“Has Jahmyr Gibbs always said his school is fucking Hollywood Arts ?? 😭😭” asked one fan.
“Did Gibbs say “Hollywood Arts” during the starters rundown? Both my daughter’s perked up,” someone else enquired.
Gibbs has made a habit of getting noticed for things that have nothing to do with football, including getting roasted over a new back tattoo back in April.
Even so, this answer caught longtime fans off guard.
