Joe Burrow drew plenty of praise from fans online after revealing why he decided to return from injury despite the Cincinnati Bengals’ playoff chances.
Burrow is back in the Cincinnati lineup following a lengthy absence, starting against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.
The quarterback missed the previous nine games with turf toe and wasn’t expected to play again this term, given the team’s odds of playing in the postseason, but he opted to go out there for the fans in Week 13, even though some of them begged him to shut it down for the season.
“We’re getting paid a lot of money to play a kid’s game. I love playing,” Burrow told Melissa Stark after she quizzed him on his reasons for returning, adding that he wanted to put on a show for the fans and be with his teammates.

“Damn right. Been saying this for a long time, you’d never hear this in the soft NBA where players take off any day that they have a chance,” said another.
