The Philadelphia Eagles have questions to answer at quarterback. Jalen Hurts’ indefinite absence (superficial blood clot) worsened the situation for a team that entered Week 6 with a 2-3 record and more doubts than certainties.
Nick Sirianni appears to be on the hot seat amid an underwhelming start to the season, especially after they lost their first game without Hurts against the Carolina Panthers. Tanner McKee started on Sunday, completing 26 of 45 pass attempts, racking up 215 yards and one interception.
The Panthers won 25-14, improving to 3-2. Meanwhile, the Eagles have plenty of issues to fix, starting at quarterback. They added Joe Milton from the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad, but the front office wanted more options.
Andy Dalton Declines Eagles Reunion Offer Amid Hurts Absence

The Eagles tried to reunite with 16-year veteran Andy Dalton nine years after cutting him. However, Mike Florio reports that Dalton “politely declined.” He has reportedly set his sights on another team.
“Dalton, who has played for the Bengals, Cowboys, Bears, Saints, Panthers, and Eagles, will be signing with a team other than the Eagles as soon as tomorrow. And his arrival in a new city likely will trigger a current member of the quarterback room making his exit.”

He was under the spotlight before being cut. Hurts was visibly upset after Dalton threw an interception in the red zone against the Chicago Bears in Week 3.
Dalton could have enjoyed more opportunities in Philly with Hurts out, but his plans changed after the ruthless cut.
