San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir has some explaining to do.

He reportedly had a scheduled holiday charity event for children with Down Syndrome. However, he never showed up. The 26-year-old was reportedly scheduled to attend a holiday toy drive in Santa Cruz, California, last week. He was supposed to collect toys and gifts for the children.

However, event organizers have claimed to TMZ that Lenoir failed to show. It left many kids disappointed. In response, a representative denied those claims to the outlet.

The event was in partnership with SET Magazine. That is The Matthew Foundation, CelebEvents Inc., and Women of the NFL. Organizers of the event accused Deommodore Lenoir of ignoring their calls as they tried to contact him.

Lenoir’s representative refused to label it a “no-show.”

According to TMZ, Deommodore Lenoir did not show up to a charity event for children with Down Syndrome. His reps do not like the side of the story that has been put out.

They claim the 49ers star was excited about hosting the event. It hits close to home because his sister has Down Syndrome. He stated he changed his mind about two weeks before the event. It was due to receiving information that adults would also be attending. He no longer wanted to participate.

The event spokesperson says Lenoir’s explanation is not accurate. “There was no misunderstanding,” the spokesperson said, “He just chose not to come.”

Deommodore Lenoir has been in trouble before. During the summer, he was arrested in Los Angeles. He was booked for resisting a peace officer. Cops suspected criminal activity when they approached Lenoir and a man named Marcus Cunningham.

They noticed a gun in Cunningham’s car. During the incident, Cunningham threw Lenoir his car keys. Lenoir would refuse to hand them over when asked by the police. That was when he was arrested on one count of resisting a peace officer. Cunningham was also arrested for possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle.

Deommodore Lenoir is a big part of the team. They rewarded him with a new five-year, $92 million extension last season. He is coming off his best year in 2024. He allowed 470 yards on 48 receptions with one touchdown and two interceptions. Lenoir added nine pass breakups as well.
