The Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive back’s brother was arrested hours before the Eagles hosted the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL playoffs. Since then, more information has come out on why he was arrested.
Beckett DeJean was arrested for operating while intoxicated, according to TMZ Sports. He was taken into custody around 1 a.m. local time on Sunday in Iowa. It’s his first DUI/OWI offense, which is classified as a misdemeanor.

DeJean was then taken to the Ida County Sheriff’s Office for field sobriety tests. He failed with a BAC of .142, which is well over the .08 legal limit.
Cops further stated that DeJean had bloodshot and watery eyes. He also smelled like alcohol and struggled with maintaining balance during the arrest. Beckett is now facing multiple penalties for his actions. That includes 48 hours in jail, a potential $1,250 fine, or license suspension.
Beckett has yet to play in a game for the South Dakota team. He is listed as a redshirt freshman on the school’s website.
