Seattle Seahawks stars Riq Woolen and Nick Emmanwori got into a heated confrontation on the sideline during Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Leading 31-20 in the third quarter, the Seahawks’ defense seemingly got a big stop on a 3rd-and-12 play to force a Rams punt. However, Riq Woolen was issued a 15-yard taunting penalty for trash-talking the Rams’ sideline, giving LA a fresh set of downs.
That set up Matthew Stafford’s touchdown pass to Puka Nacua, getting the Rams right back in the game.

Many NFL fans and analysts hate the league’s crackdown on taunting and other unsportsmanlike gestures. But, it’s well-known that you’ll almost always get a penalty if you taunt the opposing sideline. Woolen simply had to know better.
Woolen had one interception and 12 pass breakups in the regular season, per Pro Football Reference. He hasn’t been the same player since earning Pro Bowl honors in his 2022 rookie season. Of course, winning a Super Bowl would make the roller-coaster 2025 season worthwhile.
Super Bowl 60 will be held at Levi’s Stadium on Feb. 8. Bad Bunny will headline the Super Bowl halftime show, with Green Day also performing.
