Shedeur Sanders did not need a long statement to share his thoughts on the Cleveland Browns’ latest move. Just three words did the job.

The Browns wrapped up their long head coaching search on January 28 and hired Todd Monken. The team made the announcement earlier that day. Monken arrives from Baltimore, where he served as the Ravens’ offensive coordinator.

Sanders reacted almost instantly. The rookie quarterback posted on Instagram and wrote, “Time for work,” followed by a watch emoji and a fire emoji. The message made his mindset clear. He is focused and ready to get to work under the new coach.

Sanders goes into the offseason with confidence. The Browns added him to the Pro Bowl roster on Monday, January 26, as a replacement. That honor made him the first Cleveland quarterback since Derek Anderson in 2008 to make the Pro Bowl. He will join Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward at the event.

This year, the NFL moved the Pro Bowl Games to Super Bowl week for the first time. The games will be held Tuesday, February 3, at the Moscone Center South in San Francisco.

Sanders earned the nod after a quick rise in his rookie season. Cleveland drafted him in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Colorado. He took over late in the year and started the final seven games.

His numbers showed both ups and downs. He completed 56.6 percent of his passes for 1,400 yards. He threw seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions, finishing with a 68.1 passer rating. The stats were uneven, but the potential was clear.

Sanders is the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, but he has worked to make his own name in the NFL. Now, new head coach Todd Monken will help guide his growth. Monken has built a strong reputation as an offensive coach, and the Browns expect him to shape the offense around their young quarterback.
