No one will ever tell Deion Sanders anything about his son, Shedeur Sanders.

Last week, Shedeur was named to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for Drake Maye. The Patriots quarterback has more pressing matters as he prepares for the Super Bowl. The NFL was heavily criticized for allowing Sanders to play in the Pro Bowl, given his lackluster stats.

Did he show flashes? Yes. Were his stats good enough to be there? Absolutely not. Shedeur threw seven touchdowns against 10 interceptions with a woeful 68.1 passer rating, per Pro Football Reference. Even Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith had something to say about Shedeur.

Well, now his father has something to say to his critics.

If you come at the children of Deion Sanders, just know, he will return the favor in due time. The University of Colorado head football coach and Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback was ready to gloat over his son on Friday.

During an appearance on ESPN’s First Take, Coach Prime spoke to the critics who his son silenced.

“All the bulljunk they was putting out on him this time last year, where has that gone? Because he’s a true leader, he’s a bona fide baller, he can play” – Deion Sanders on Shedeur Sanders.

Entering the 2025 NFL draft, Shedeur was considered a potential first-round pick. However, he shockingly fell all the way to the fifth round before the Cleveland Browns took him 144th overall. Shedeur completed 71.8 percent of his passes for 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions over his two seasons at Colorado. That still wasn’t enough, as he ended up being the sixth quarterback taken in the 2025 NFL draft.

After beginning fourth on the Browns’ quarterback depth chart, Shedeur Sanders worked his way up to being the starter. Shedeur started the final seven games of the season. He went 3-4 and completed 56.6 percent of his passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
