If Makai Lemon wanted to make a name for himself at the combine, he did it without showing his talents.
The former USC Trojans wide receiver revealed his competitive mentality during his media session at the NFL Combine. Lemon spoke to the media on Friday before working out at the NFL Combine on Saturday. The draft prospect was asked who he compares his style of play to.
He did not hesitate as he brought up former USC receiver and current Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown. “I’d probably say Amon-Ra St. Brown. You know, the type of grit he plays with, the type of way he can have a positive impact on the team without the ball in his hands,” Lemon said.

Social Media Roasted Former USC Wideout Makai Lemon

When USC wide receiver Makai Lemon stepped to the podium at the NFL Scouting Combine inside Lucas Oil Stadium, his answers garnered attention. It wasn’t because they were eye-opening; it was because of the movements he made when answering them.
There have been many college athletes making waves with their talent so far, but Lemon took his attention to the next level. When asked which NFL player he studies or models his game after, Lemon didn’t overthink it.
“I’d probably say Amon-Ra St. Brown,” he said. St. Brown was named a First Team NFL All-Pro in 2023 and 2024.
Social media glided right past his answer and spoke to his facial and bodily movements.
“He look like he boutta catch an assault charge with a 3 game suspension. So, I’d say he’s NFL ready,” one person said.
