A new report for ESPN indicates that there were multiple calls to and visits from police before James Pearce Jr. got arrested in Florida in early February

According to the report, Rickea Jackson made at least seven 911 calls in the buildup to the Falcons linebacker’s arrest.

“In the weeks before Atlanta Falcons linebacker James Pearce Jr. allegedly rammed his Lamborghini SUV into WNBA player Rickea Jackson’s car in Doral, Florida, at least seven 911 calls to police indicate heightened fears from his unidentified girlfriend that she was being stalked and harassed, and that she believed Pearce had tried to break into her residence,” ESPN shared on Monday.

Police warned Pearce to stay away from the home of a woman described as his ex-girlfriend on January 13.

They later arrested him on felony battery and stalking charges.

Jackson, a forward for the Los Angeles Sparks, has since filed a court notice saying she’s willing to testify if the matter goes to trial.

“Police officers were repeatedly dispatched to a residence in Doral described as the home of Pearce’s on-again, off-again girlfriend between November and the day of Pearce’s arrest,” ESPN adds.

Police did not arrest anyone on the day. They also redacted the names of pertinent individuals.

Officers visited a Doral residence on January 28, where a female resident named Pearce in a domestic disturbance complaint. She said she did not want him to enter the home and was in fear for her safety after noticing a damaged door.

Pearce was not present when the officers arrived.

The woman chose to leave the house and go to a hotel to “avoid further incidents.”

ESPN’s report details several other interactions with police, including one following a daytime burglary report.

The redacted report described Pearce as “the subject,” but it is unclear what occurred. A woman, listed as “Ms. Jackson,” told police in the report she saw Pearce leaving before police arrived,” the report notes.

Police have also charged Pearce with fleeing and eluding police, aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer without violence following the February incident.
