Star Football Player Tragically Dies at 28 After Getting Shot While Breaking Up Bar Fight

Former college football player and indoor league star Jordan Jones is dead at 28 following a tragic incident in Acworth, Georgia.
TMZ Sports is reporting that the player succumbed to a gunshot wound after trying to break up a fight outside of a bar on Saturday.
“Indoor football player and college standout Jordan Jones tragically lost his life over the weekend … after he was shot outside of a bar while trying to break up a fight. He was only 28,” the outlet shared.
TMZ cites a report from the Acworth Police Department stating that officers arrived at the Saddle Bar around 2:42 a.m.
They found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound and rendered assistance. He later died at the Kennestone Hospital.
An investigation revealed that the former defensive end was working as a security guard at the bar.
He broke up a fight in which Daniel Di Vonne Parsons was involved.
Parsons allegedly drew a firearm and shot Jones.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and no additional details are available at this time,” the APD said.
Meanwhile, Parsons is in custody. The authorities have charged him with felony murder. They have also brought him up on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
Jordan Jones Was Supposed To Play For A New Team This Season

Jones began his football career at Mountain View High School before playing for West Alabama.
He played in the Indoor Football League with the Tulsa Oilers and San Antonio Gunslingers after college.
“A talented player and respected competitor, Jordan left a lasting mark on the league and those who had the privilege of knowing him,” the league said in a statement.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and teammates.”
Jones would have played for the Michigan Arsenal in the Arena Football One this season.
“Arena Football One is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Michigan Arsenal linebacker Jordan Jones,” AF1 wrote.
