The police continue to investigate the killing of a star professional football player over the weekend. The athlete was just 28 years old at the time of the tragedy.
The killing happened outside a bar in Acworth, Georgia, called Saddle Bar. Jordan Jones, a player in the Indoor Football League, tried to break up a fight at the spot.
Jones played at Mountain View High School and the University of West Alabama. He posted 211 total tackles, 17 sacks, five forced fumbles, and one interception during his pre-IFL time. He then joined the Tulsa Oilers and San Antonio Gunslingers.
Police Arrested A Person Connected To Jordan Jones’s Killing

TMZ Sports reported on Monday that police responded to a shooting outside a bar on Saturday. Once they arrived, they found Jordan Jones injured from a gunshot.
“The Acworth Police Department said officers were dispatched to Saddle Bar for a shooting around 2:42 AM on Saturday. When they arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound and rendered aid,” TMZ reported.
“He later succumbed to his injuries at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA. APD’s investigation revealed the victim was Jones, who was working as a security guard at the bar.”
Police arrested 25-year-old Daniel Di Vonne Parsons and charged him with felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jones’ loved ones.
Months after a youth football coach suffered the same fate, Jones lost his life while trying to do well. We hope he gets justice.
