The Los Angeles Rams entered the 2026 NFL offseason as a solid team with Super Bowl expectations. However, Matthew Stafford’s uncertain future put them in a difficult position. They need their best player to compete again, but the front office still prepares for a scenario in which Stafford is gone.

Following an MVP-worthy campaign, Stafford showed that he still got it. However, the Rams faced the possibility of losing him after the 2025 campaign. They had an interest in bringing in Jimmy Garoppolo again, but as the weeks went by, new opportunities popped up.

Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray could be an option for Sean McVay’s team. Cardinals beat writer John Gambadoro reported on Wednesday that Murray could be an option for the Rams.

“Kyler Murray will visit with the Minnesota Vikings tomorrow. A starting spot is a priority, and Minnesota does offer that and a deal could be done in the next 24 hours. But Murray and his camp are expected to explore several options as a backup in 2026 for teams that could need a starting QB in 2027 over the next 24 hours,” he wrote.

Analyst Predicted Joe Burrow Will Sign With Rams In 2027 Before Kyler Murray Rumors

Another big option for the NFC West franchise includes one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Joe Burrow has missed the playoffs three consecutive seasons, and another failed campaign could mark the end of his tenure in Cincinnati.

Analyst John Middlekauff predicted that the Rams would pull the trigger in a move to bring Burrow to Los Angeles.

“It does feel like Sean McVay (will make a big trade) for him next offseason,” the analyst said.

While they could still have Matthew Stafford on the roster in 2026, the Rams could also add Kyler Murray or Joe Burrow. That would be a solid example of the rich getting richer.
