The Dallas Cowboys shocked the NFL world when they shipped defensive lineman Osa Odighizuwa, a player they re-signed to a multiple-year extension last offseason. He was previously used as a trade chip to unlock negotiations with the Las Vegas Raiders for Maxx Crosby.

After failing to land the defensive end, the Cowboys shipped Odighizuwa to San Francisco in exchange for a third-round pick (No. 92 in April’s draft), and Salomon Thomas to the Tennessee Titans for a seventh-round pick.

They need to replace these two in the free market or via draft, and the perfect candidate appears to be waiting for a call. Dallas could add a six-time Pro Bowler to the trenches.

Dallas Cowboys Could Land Calais Campbell For 2026 Season

At 39, Calais Campbell is past his prime. However, he showed in the past couple of years that he can still make an impact. He would play his 18th NFL season in 2026, which could offer the Cowboys an immediate solution. K.D. Drummond of Cowboys Wire floated the idea on Saturday.

“Campbell has been signing one-year journeyman deals for the last several cycles. He spent the first nine years of his career with the Arizona Cardinals, from 2008 through 2016, then inked with Jacksonville for three years and the Ravens for another three. …The Cowboys should be knocking down his door to see if he wants to cross the border into Texas for 2026.”

With Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams leading that unit, the Cowboys will not send Campbell to war. However, adding depth in the trenches is always mandatory. Dallas added a Packers star to improve its pass rushing, too.
